Nordic Patent Institute was established in 2008. The member countries are:

  • Denmark

  • Norway

  • Iceland

and it is examiners from Denmark and Norway who perform searches and examinations in the patent area for other patent offices around the world within all fields of technology. The purpose of the institute is to service companies in the three countries regarding PCT applications.
