Objective:

The aim of the project was to provide support for legal approximation in the field of Industrial Property rights. An important aspect was to enhance the capacity of SIPO to apply the current and upcoming legislation including, institutional assessment and capacity building. In addition to this support for the preparation of a comprehensive strategy for improved enforcement of current and upcoming legislation in the field of Intellectual Property Rights in Croatia was provided.

The DKPTO was subcontracted by GTZ in this project and provided input to this project of 100 man-days

 

The topics dealt with by the DKPTO experts were:

Assisting SIPO in analyzing the workflow related to patent examinations and provide input/suggestions to how it could be improved.

Assist SIPO in accessing their commercial services and provide recommendation on how to further develop them.

Developing a model for establishing a patent appeal court structure in the Croatian central administration
