Objective

The overall project purpose is to improve protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in Serbia. The project will target issues related to establishing a formalized cooperation mechanism for the institutions involved. Efforts will also be put into aligning the present regulatory framework in order to meet European standards. Capacity building activities targeting officials from the authorities in question will be conducted and efforts will be put into develop and implement awareness raising activities.

 

Summary

The project includes the following components:

  1. Improved legislation for efficient administrative procedures for detention, storage and destruction of counterfeited products
  2. Strengthen the capacity and the cooperation between the IP active authorities
  3. Study on violation of IPR and transnational organised crime and preparation of a national conference
  4. Development and implementation of IPR information system in the Market Inspectorate
  5. Measures to enhance public awareness on counterfeiting and IP violations
